Bistable Brakes - Low Energy Solution
As already described for the design of clutches, KEB bi-stable brakes, also called flip-flop brakes, also offer the capability of maintaining switching states - open and closed - without additional energy input.
Bi-stable brakes make sense in particular when stopping for a long time in one position is necessary, as in the use for doors and hatch systems, for example.
■ Torque range - 20 … 60 Nm
■ Diameter - 100 … 160 mm
■ Operating voltages - 12 … 48 V DC
KEB Flip-flop brakes offer:
■ Zero energy consumption, except on switching pulse
■ Easy system integration
■ Torsional backlash-free effect
■ Two stable end positions
■ Long service life
