OverviewKEMSOLID soil‑mixing attachments by KSI, driven by KEMROC, are trench soil‑mixing (TSM) attachments for in‑situ ground improvement. They inject and mix a cementitious binder into the existing soil column to produce continuous, homogeneous soil‑cement structures with controlled depth and reduced material movement and CO₂ emissions.
Key benefits- Extendable mixing trencher reach up to 12–16 m depending on model
- Mountable on standard excavators and drilling rigs
- Optimized tungsten‑carbide tipped tooling pattern for efficient mixing
- High‑torque drive motors for mixing heavy soils
- Simple, heavy‑duty design with hydraulic chain tensioning
- Low vibration and noise levels for urban or sensitive sites
- No excavation or spoil removal required — binder injected at the lowest point and mixed upward to form a continuous, impermeable profile
- Eco‑efficient execution: potential CO₂ savings (~40%) versus conventional methods
- High daily output potential (>100 linear meters/day in favorable conditions)
How trench soil mixing worksThe mixing trencher penetrates to the target depth (models support up to 16 m). Binder is injected at the lowest point while a rotating mixing chain blends it upward into the soil column, producing a consistent, water‑resistant soil‑cement profile without excavation or backfilling.
Main applications- Foundations and special foundation elements (road, rail, airport bases, reinforcement for heavy structural loads)
- Trench stabilization for utilities and cable installations
- Groundwater sealing, contaminated‑soil barrier walls and landfill containment
- Diaphragm‑wall alternatives, earth retention and support walls in constrained urban environments
Additional features & operational highlights- Precision mixing depths and accurate injection point ensure full‑depth treatment and homogeneous structure
- Multiple widths and depths available for different soils and project requirements
- Recommended chain speed around 2.0–2.5 m/s for the mixing process
- Designed for consistent binder distribution and reproducible soil‑cement properties
