Description

Overview
The Ventus-UMB ultrasonic wind sensor Lufft provides high-precision measurements of wind speed, gust and direction using the run-time differential method. It delivers instantaneous values, vector and scalar means, maximum gust, minimum/maximum values and virtual temperature. Data output is available via serial or analogue interfaces for compatibility with standard hydrometeorological dataloggers and PLC systems. An optional automatic heater enables reliable operation at very low temperatures down to -40 °C.

Benefits
  • Suitable for extreme environments: vibration- and seawater-resistant design; optional integrated heater permits ice-free operation down to -40 °C.
  • Versatile interfaces: built-in data pre-processing and selectable output protocols ensure compatibility with common dataloggers and PLC systems.
  • Maintenance-free operation: ultrasonic measurement with no moving parts; no routine re-calibration required.
