Description

New product line for Kevlar milling Contrary to carbon fibers, which can be cropped or broken by chipping with a particular cutter, Kevlar and accordingly aramid fibers do require tool geometries with an intensified shear action because of their enormous high toughness. The special milling geometry for Kevlar and accordingly aramid fiber reinforced composites of LMT Belin therefore uses the principle of combined upcut and downcut helix similar to a compression milling cutter. The solid carbide end milling cutter has 2 straight flutes, which are responsible for the chip removal and, in the same time are acting like cutter knives, cutting the fiber into short, easily removable pieces.
