In case of a seismic event the joints must be capable of accommodating large seismic movements. Applications mageba TENSA-QUAKE seismic expansion joints are designed to protect buildings during earthquakes. The joints operate as regular components under normal conditions with the ability to independently extend the movement capacity from +/- 20mm to service movement of +/- 750mm (or more) in case of an earthquake. The expansion joints stand for high user safety and comfort and their robust and durable construction reliably minimizes loads and damage on the structure.
