Our front loading Multi-Application Laboratory Furnace is our most versatile furnace due to the large number of options and configurations. It is an ideal tool for small sample research and development requiring high temperature processing. Default temperature is 2000 °C maximum, or 2800 °C with the addition of a water-cooled heater shell.
Hot zone size is 4″ diameter x 8″ high. This furnace has an optional crystal growing kit, mini hot press kit, and quench kit, which can be swapped with minimal effort. The front loading design allows easy and full access to the loading area.
Specifications
Well suited for research and development due to it’s flexibility
Excellent +/-10 °C temperature uniformity
Metallic, Graphite or Ceramic hot zone, easy to swap
4″ diameter x 8″ high (101 mm x 203 mm) hot zone size
The chamber is loaded from the front and contains a Hot Zone with a 3.0″ diameter x 6.0″ high usable zone and +/- 10 °C temperature gradient. The heating element is a 1/2- 1/2 split design allowing the crucible loaded with sample material to be inserted straight into the zone onto the support plate. The furnace chamber is manufactured from double-walled stainless steel welded together and polished for a clean finish and good vacuum integrity.
The hot zone assembly can be one of three choices: a graphite band element and rigid fibrous graphite insulation pack, a Moly-D rod element with a ceramic insulation pack, or a high temperature metal mesh heating element and layered metal shielding. The maximum operating temperature is 2000°C (1650°C with ceramic zone) with the crystal growing kit, and is capable of 2800 °C in batch mode with the addition of a heater shell.
