Contact-less measurement of the relative displacement of the moving elements of a machine, is enabled by the proximity system. It is quite apt for the measurement of relative vibration & the axial position of machine shafts which rotate. The machine shafts may be found in gas, steam and hydraulic turbines. It may also be found in the alternators, pumps and turbo compressors. TQ 402/TQ 412 non contact transducer and IQS 450 signal conditioner form a vital part of the system. They form a calibrated system of proximity with interchangeable components. The system facilitates an output of a voltage or current, which is proportional to the distance between the target(like machine shaft) and the transducer tip.
