GelSight Mobile™ and GelSight Max are portable handheld devices that precisely visualize and measure the 3D topography of any surface. In doing so, they reveal microscopic structures that are difficult to detect with conventional inspection techniques. This is made possible by GelSight's proprietary tactile elastomer sensor technology. Thanks to this, a soft, high-resolution tactile sensor has been created that adapts to the shape of the object being inspected and captures its surface topography with extreme precision. The captured data is analyzed and instantly provides detailed 3D information about the surface features, regardless of ambient lighting, material composition or reflection. The result is a very precise and repeatable surface characterization within seconds.
