Description

The crystal clear polycarbonate matrix offers outstanding appearance while it also provides high impact toughness and excellent machineability. Due to the high amount of carbon fibre reinforcement, the coefficient of thermal expansion is very low. This can be advantageous for many applications, especially if high fluctuations in temperature arise and accuracy is demanded. TECATEC PC CW50 PL V01 natural has a stiffness of 48 GPa while having a density of only 1.52 g/cm3. This makes the fiber reinforced thermoplastic an ideal candidate to replace steel or aluminium in areas with medium loads and where weight should be reduced. This PC composite plate can be machined or cut via waterjet. Due to the toughness of the polycarbonate matrix, even threads can be directly machined into the material. The properties of this carbon fibre reinforced thermoplastic make it ideal for applications in mechanical engineering, such as robot arms and grippers. Other applications are sporting goods and the automotive industry, where the excellent visual characteristics and the recyclability of the material play an important role. The carbon reinforced plastic plates are offered in 1 mm steps of panel thickness between 1 mm and 95 mm overall thickness. There is no minimum order quantity for these plates.
