Description

Overview
This manually positioned Global Wheel Chock is designed to secure a wide variety of vehicles at the loading dock, including liftgate, delivery and parcel trucks, trailers without RIG bars and other non-RIG trailers that traditional rotating hook restraints cannot engage. It is intended to reduce trailer creep and early departure while providing constant engagement communication to improve safety and operational control.

Key Features
  • Extra-long footbed helps reduce trailer creep.
  • Integrated ultra-sonic sensor confirms wheel chock engagement and provides constant operational communication.
  • Dok-Lok® style interior and exterior light communication compatibility for clear visual/audible status.
  • Manually positioned for ergonomic operation with minimal force.
  • Designed to secure mixed and last-mile fleets (liftgate, parcel and delivery trucks) and trailers without standard RIG configurations.

Benefits
  • Engineered for mixed trailer traffic: secures vehicles that traditional rotating hook restraints cannot engage, strengthening the vehicle restraint strategy.
  • Constant operational communication: ultra-sonic sensor connects via coil cord to detect tire presence and engage communication systems, reducing guesswork at the dock.
  • Compliance confidence: certified to exceed ANSI MH30.3 performance testing standards; design complies with OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.178.
  • Integration: integrates with dock controls, timers and light communication systems to form a layered dock safety solution.
  • Pairs with additional equipment: can be used alongside rotating hook restraints and trailer stands to provide layered protection and help mitigate landing gear collapse.

Safety
The GWC-1000 supports safer loading operations by providing reliable tire engagement detection and communicating constant chock engagement to interior and exterior light/horn systems. Proper wheel engagement and status communication help prevent trailer creep, early departure and other trailer separation accidents.

Design
  • Continuous aluminum extrusion construction designed to withstand harsh loading dock environments; extrusion has a yield strength of 40 KSI and does not require frequent adjustment for climatic changes.
  • When not in use the wheel chock is hung on a steel hanger bracket on the exterior wall to keep it out of the elements and clear of the approach.
  • Ergonomic manual positioning accommodates a wide range of tire diameters with minimal operator effort.

Communication and Control
The product supports Dok-Lok® style light communication (interior and exterior) and can interlock with other dock components. The GWC-1000’s ultra-sonic sensor (connected via a coil cord) provides audible and visual alarms to clearly indicate safe, constant chock engagement and can be incorporated into a total dock safety system.

Connected Capabilities
The GWC-1000 is Rite-Hite ONE-enabled to provide real-time visibility into equipment status, cycle counts, fault modes and service history when paired with the Rite-Hite ONE digital platform (connected capabilities/subscription may be required). Connected data can support safety alerts, productivity analytics and uptime monitoring.

Applications
Recommended for facilities with diverse or high-turn trailer traffic that require layered protection and integrated dock communication, including automotive, food & beverage, warehousing & distribution, pulp/paper/packaging, manufacturing, last-mile delivery hubs and cold storage environments.
