This face seal is designed with a spring-energizer in a C-Seal jacket, which is a self-pressure, activated design to provide an effective metal-to-metal leak proof solution. The proper combination of the base materials and surface coatings make it possible to seal almost any fluid at extreme temperatures and pressures without deterioration of the seal over extended periods of time. Spring-energized face seals are used for higher leakage requirements. They are used in pressure vessels, hand-holes, and steam generators.
