The EXTICOV-CCF™ fire suffocating cover consists of reinforced, single-slope SONEC® technology 20/10 galvanized steel slats set in metal frames. These are then installed at the top of the pit on specially designed angles.
Once the hot oils are "trapped" in the pit, the fire self-extinguishes almost instantaneously, as the oxygen oxidant is not replenished. As the smothering phenomenon is very rapid, the temperature rise inside the pit is low, and the thermal runaway that could lead to accelerated fire propagation is rendered almost impossible. The device thus acts passively and simultaneously on 2 of the 3 components of the fire triangle in a simple and effective way: temperature and oxygen oxidizer.
Description of the EXTICOV-CCF™ standard range:
Special suffocating slats made of continuous galvanized steel 20/10 Z275, their sturdiness ensures that if the suffocating gratings are forgotten, an operator won't be able to walk through the slats if he were to step on them, unlike current existing systems.
Shutters housed in a special, custom-made frame made of hot-dip galvanized steel to ISO EN1461-2022 standard.
Non-slip hot-dip galvanized steel gratings allow the shutters to be moved around the pit without risk of deformation or movement, thus maintaining the compliance of the suffocating gratings system during pit operations.
System load-bearing capacity of 250 daN/m² to 500 daN/m² (distributed load) as standard, depending on customer requirements.
Unique last-flap lockout system with CCF-STOP™, maintenance flap lockout screw
