OverviewMACFUGE separators, installed worldwide in hundreds of units, provide industrial centrifugal separation solutions for biodiesel production. The technology is applied to pretreatment and purification tasks for traditional biodiesel (FAME) and new-generation fuels (HVO, renewable diesel, green diesel, SAF). Capacity range covers small oil mills to large refineries (approx. 50–1000 T/day).
Applications and purposeMACFUGE separators are used to purify and clean biodiesel streams and to perform feedstock pretreatments required by modern bio-refineries. Typical uses include removal of transesterification by-products and contaminants to improve crude oil feed quality for downstream conversion.
Key separation targets- Glycerin
- Soaps
- Water
- Total contamination and other process contaminants depending on trans-esterification technique
Feedstocks- Fatty acids
- Waste oils
- Animal fats and tallow
- Used Cooking Oil (UCO)
Extended usesMACFUGE separators support cleaning, neutralization and esterification steps for FAME production and are adapted for integration into multi-feedstock pretreatment lines required for hydrotreatment/hydrogenation processes in HVO and other new-generation bio-refineries.
Options and constructionAvailable in explosion-proof configurations for hazardous areas (ATEX certified) with selectable corrosion-resistant materials of construction to suit aggressive feedstocks.
