To improve visual weld quality, one must begin with determining the joining processes capability to produce good welds day after day even with the inherent variability common in manufacturing plants. WiKi-SCAN™ Portable Inspection using WiKi-SCANWiKi-SCAN™ is a new unique handheld wireless inspection system which ensures the reliability of the weld process. This systems 3D scan of joints and welds can accurately provide measurements of many features, from leg size to undercut. Results can be automatically compared to the tolerances set and provide GO/NO-GO feedback. The WiKi-SCAN™ also allows to inspect joint preparations and fit-ups in the field and accurately measure critical parameters such as face and root openings or gaps, mismatch and bevel angle.
