Measure principle: The transducer measures the water level exploiting the hydrostatic pressure principle. A standard air pressure pipe (ø6mm) is submerged within the river or water body of which shall be measured the water depth. The water column present within the above mentioned pipe is emptied by a air flux. The required air pressure necessary to empty the pipe correspond to the total water pressure. The water level is calculated using the Torricelli principle, that is the difference between the the total water pressure and the atmospheric air pressure. The main advantage of the sensor is that the measuring elements are out of the water, ensiling it maintenance. The transducer can be fixed over a ø48mm steel mast with related bracket or to a vertical wall using the available holes located at the backside of the sensor case.

Intelligent sensor: The transducer belongs to the intelligent sensor family as based on a internal micro-processor chip that execute among other functions: the correct control functioning, supervising the operation of internal valves, pumps and other servo mechanism, data pre-processing, electrical signal A/D conversion etc. This characteristics warranty excellent accuracy, long-term stability and high data reliability.

Laboratory calibration: The sensor can be supplied with a SIAP+MICROS calibration certificate or with calibration certificates issues by external primary metrological services (SIT, Colonetti, ecc).
