oil lubrication unit / minimal quantity / chain / pneumatic
SKF VectoLub is a minimal quantity lubrication unit (MQL) designed for external tool lubrication, chain lubrication and lubrication at the time of assembly. MQL uses non-aqueous, environmentally-friendly lubricants, which support optimization by adding additives to suit specific machining operations, as opposed to traditional water-based cooling lubricants.
With the Vectolub technology, a small amount of lubricant (0 to 90 mm³) is delivered to a nozzle using a micro positive displacement pump, which is driven by pneumatics. The transfer is done via interior capillaries of a coaxial tube. Within the nozzle, there is churning up of the low-pressure air going through the tube. Micro droplets (200 to 600 μm) are formed due to the limited quantity of lubricant. The airflow then conveys these droplets to the lubrication point with no mist formation. A sealed lubricant layer is produced by the limited droplet size.
With the the Vectolub, lubrication efficiency is improved and there is a decrease in lubrication consumption. It also ensures the working area remains safe and clean.
