High purity, premium grade skived PTFE tapes and films that have been calendered for enhanced physical, mechanical and electrical properties. These films are sometimes referred to as “tensilized” PTFE films. The calendered PTFE films combine the unparalleled purity and cleanliness of our premium skived PTFE films with extraordinary physical, mechanical and electrical properties, delivering exceptional performance and reliability in a wide range of critical applications. In addition to the extremely high tensile strength and modulus of elasticity, calendered skived films’ Corona Inception Voltage (CIV) is three times higher than a regular skived film, being an outstanding option for high voltage insulation systems where partial discharges and corona effect need to be minimized. Technetics’ calendered films can be used as the backing material in pressure sensitive adhesive tapes and meet the requirements of A-A-59474, Type 1, Classes 1 and 2.
