The penetration depth of the needle is determined with a pulse type electronic measuring system. Before each start of the test the measuring system automatically resets, and then the penetration needle moves down to the sample by using the electric drive, the needle position can be finely adjusted by using the buttons located on the penetrometer front . The bitumen penetrometer is supplied complete with outfit for penetration of bituminous materials including needle, holder, 50 g weight.
