S-TEX Textured Twisted Yarn: our S-TEX Textured Twisted Yarns are made from special glass yarns which contains minimum of 94% silicon dioxide which ensures the yarns can withstand temperatures of 1000°C. Yarns made from silica fabric have low thermal conductivity, high resistance to thermal shock, superb electric insulation characteristics at high temperatures, acid and alkali resistance (up to pH14) in comparison with fibres made of E Glass and Basalt. Our S-TEX Textured Twisted Yarns operate effectively under conditions of cyclical thermal loads. Texturised silica yarns have been put through a specialist air jet process which adds bulk and volume to the fibre to improve their thermal qualities.
