Rope S-TEX Silica Fibre Packing (Stainless Steel Overbraid)

S-TEX Silica Fibre Packing (Stainless Steel Overbraid): our S-TEX silica packings are braided entirely using 6µ continuous filament textured silica yarns. They cause little irritation and are resistant to 1000°C. Standard density packings have good spring-back and consequently high resistance to breaking. The base fibres are inorganic, sterile and flame proof and they have low thermal conductivity, are resistance to oils and they do not rust. They exhibit excellent chemical stability resisting attack from organic agents, water and hot acids (except hydrofluoric acid). The material does not vitrify and is an excellent substitution for ceramic fibre rope packing. The open overbraid of stainless steel enhances the abrasion resistance and prolongs the life of the seal considerably.
