Designed for gear lubrication, Carter SY oils are synthetic oils for lubricating gearboxes operating in the most severe conditions, such as heavy loads, shocks, extreme temperatures and corrosive atmospheres. This synthetic oil for gearboxes and industrial transmissions offers many advantages over other oils, including a very high viscosity index and excellent stability against mechanical shearing. Its low coefficient of friction ensures protection of non-ferrous parts such as the bronze ring gear of worm and wheel gears, and energy savings of between 5 and 10% compared with mineral oils. Carter SY has excellent thermal stability, extreme pressure and anti-wear properties, good resistance to foaming in service and excellent anti-corrosion properties. We recommend checking compatibility with the various gearbox components (seals, paints, etc.).
