flat seal / rubber / for wind turbines / rod
for wind turbines, rod
Wind energy as a power source is favored as an alternative to fossil fuels, as it is plentiful, renewable, widely distributed, clean and produces lower greenhouses gas emissions.
More and more large scale wind farms are installed in the North Sea, due to strong wind resources and relatively shallow water. Much more extensive offshore wind farms are planned to build in the next decades.
Each turbine’s tower rests on a pile foundation, usually a mono pile or a tripod. During installation of the upper part, the tower is positioned over or in the pile. The space between tower and the pile is sealed by a rubber seal. On top of the seal grout is injected in order to make a solid connection.
This construction method secures the perfect vertical position of the tower. Because of the application the seal is called a grout seal. Trelleborg Ridderkerk is specialized in the design and supply of active (inflatable seal) and passive (lip seal) grout seals
