Slydring® and Wear Ring The purpose of a Slydring® or Wear Ring is to guide the piston and rod of a working cylinder, absorbing potential transverse forces. Preventing metallic contact between the sliding parts of the cylinder, non-metallic wear rings offer major benefits over traditional metallic bearings, such as better load distribution and less abrasion.Three different types of materials are available depending upon the application requirements. The highly wear resistant Turcite® Slydring® for low to medium loads, fabric composite Orkot® Wear Ring for high loads and high modulus thermoplastics Zurcon® Wear Ring, for high loads and long service life.
