If larger volumes of dissolved gases and light volatile components exist in the mixture, pre-stripping via a flash box may benefit fine separation in an additional stage. One precondition is that the boiling points of the components are sufficiently apart from each other. Product flow is initially pre-heated in one phase. The product flow is then released into the vacuum unit and the volatiles evaporate. This method ensures that pre-heating required for the product flow can be used to generate pre-separation into a suitable separation vessel. Lower pressures and lower concentration in the residual contents can be achieved in the Thin Film or Short Path Evaporation, or a further fraction of the mixture can be separated by using a Flash Box.
