Description

The DXA-005 is a high-performance digital dual-channel lock-in amplifier designed to detect weak signals buried in strong noise with high accuracy and wide bandwidth. It integrates high-speed DAC/ADC hardware, DSP-based demodulation and multiple measurement/control functions suitable for scientific research and industrial applications.

Overview
The instrument uses digital modulation technology with a 1 GSPS 16-bit DAC and 14-bit (or optional 24-bit) ADCs on a DSP platform to accurately and rapidly extract effective signal components in noisy environments. Multi-harmonic measurement, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer and PID control functions are built in to broaden applicability.

Input Channel

  • Selectable input impedance: 50 Ω or 10 MΩ.
  • Full-scale sensitivity range: 1 nV to 1 V with dynamic range >120 dB.
  • Dual ADC architecture: choose high-speed 14-bit ADC (DC to 400 MHz band) or high-precision 24-bit ADC (DC to 100 kHz band) depending on application.

Output Signal Channel
Based on a 1 GSPS 16-bit DAC, the output generates sine waves from 1 Hz to 400 MHz with adjustable DC bias. Under 50 Ω load the amplitude range is 1 Vpp to 1.5 Vpp and DC bias range ±1.5 V. Output phase is synchronized to the internal oscillator and phase offset is independently settable.

Reference Channel
The reference may be internal (sine or square via digital synthesis) or external (sine or TTL). Internal reference uses a high-precision oscillator and digital synthesis with phase resolution down to 1 μdeg. The instrument can detect harmonics up to the 65,535th harmonic (limited by the instrument bandwidth).

Digital Demodulator
The demodulator offers flexible time constants (25 ns to 4 ks), selectable filter steepening rates from 6 to 48 dB/oct in eight steps, and an optional synchronization filter to suppress reference harmonics. Performance highlights include dynamic reserve >120 dB, absolute phase error <1°, zero DC drift and excellent quadrature performance.

PC Software and APIs
Provided PC software allows configuration via block diagrams or control panels with numeric and real-time waveform displays and CSV export. APIs and multi-language support are provided for Python, MATLAB and LabVIEW.

Color Display Screen
A 5.6-inch TFT color display (640 × 480) provides the main user interface and full independent control via the instrument keyboard; it displays demodulator parameters (X, Y, R, θ) and basic settings.

Oscilloscope
Built-in oscilloscope with up to 4 channels (selectable inputs including reference and outputs), multiple trigger modes, maximum 65,536 sampling depth and adjustable sampling time from 65 μs to 1 s.

PID Controllers
Two independent on-board digital PID controllers with sampling rates up to 4 MSPS, tightly coupled to the lock-in demodulators for closed-loop regulation of amplitude, phase, frequency and other controlled quantities.

Parametric Scanner & FFT Spectrum Analyzer
Parametric scanner supports instantaneous plotting of frequency and amplitude responses with single or cyclic scan modes. FFT spectrum analysis of oscilloscope-captured waveforms provides frequency-domain analysis with approximate frequency resolution of 1 Hz to 15 kHz depending on sampling rate.
