Description

Load Control Module (LCM) is an advanced demand response switch that helps electric utilities quickly and reliably shed load during peak periods. This multi-function switch technology, jointly developed by Sensus and EnTek, controls power to energy-intensive appliances, such as HVAC units, pool pumps, water heaters and irrigation pumps. It’s an ideal solution to reduce load for both residential and commercial operations. Product Features Demand response and load control events supported Event randomization Event duty cycle Power fail alarm indicates when devices have been disconnected Tamper alarms Load sensing Cold load pickup Supports three active channels with up to two 30 Amp relays and two 5 Amp relays Over–the–air firmware downloads to keep equipment up to date Installation supported with FieldLogic™ Connected handheld Direct Communication Featuring a two-watt radio, this LCM has the power to talk directly to base station collectors over the FlexNet® communication network—eliminating any need for pairing to another meter or device. With two-way, direct communications, operators get confirmation that the module is handling the load control event as expected. The FC340A LCM radio module has been optimized for improved RF performance. Multiple Deployment Options The FC340A was purposely designed to give utilities options to simplify installation. For new deployments, it can be installed as a complete unit. However, it also has the ability to replace previously deployed LCMs by simply performing a “door swap.” This unique adaptation works on several of the most commonly deployed LCMs installed over the last 20+ years—saving utilities time and money.
