Description

Overview
The NZ 2.0 printhead is engineered to ensure robustness, reliability and operational continuity in demanding industrial environments. Anodised aluminium and AISI 304 stainless steel structure, high-precision internal components and dedicated seals in the Harsh Environment (HE) version provide resistance to dust, humidity, solvents, vibrations and temperature variations. Optimised mechanical design reduces friction and wear, extending operating life and ensuring stable performance at high printing frequencies.

The range
Designed for in-line marking on moving products, the NZ 2.0 series is available with 7, 16 or 32 dots and 120 or 200 μm nozzles. It supports printing of macro characters including alphanumeric text, barcodes and logos, with print heights from 4.2 to 139.5 mm depending on model and matrix. The synthetic ruby nozzle assembly and internal Teflon hydraulic connections help maintain consistent marking quality over time. Available in Standard (S) and Harsh Environment (HE) versions. Fully compatible with Z402, Z408 and Z408PI printing systems.

Orkestra connectivity
The Orkestra platform provides advanced connectivity to simplify integration with line devices and business systems. Head management, message creation and verification, parameter setting and remote management are performed via the Orkestra software interface (console or PC). Storing print parameters in the message reduces configuration time and errors and facilitates remote operations.

Benefits
  • Robust construction: anodised aluminium and AISI 304 stainless steel structure; HE version includes dedicated seals for harsh conditions.
  • Extended operation and continuous production: precision engineering reduces friction and wear, increasing MTBF and reducing unscheduled downtime.
  • Ready for traceability 4.0: supports 2D codes (QR, Data Matrix) and advanced connectivity for continuous data exchange.
  • Reliability in extreme conditions: spring-loaded solenoid with nut prevents calibration loss under vibration for uniform, legible markings.
  • Reduction in ink consumption: smaller nozzle sizes enable up to 45% ink savings versus previous generation.
  • Repairability and TCO optimization: designed for targeted repairs to reduce downtime and total cost of ownership in line with the 3R philosophy.

Applications
NZ 2.0 heads provide reliable marking on flat, curved or inclined surfaces, both absorbent and non-absorbent (examples: PVC, polyester, rubber, aluminium, steel, glass, ceramic). Compatible with a wide range of water-based, solvent-based and pigmented inks for high contrast and fast drying in challenging environmental conditions.
