Alumina-Silica Type Z-118C is a medium-density combination of low-shot ceramic fiber, inorganic fillers and refractory binders. Prefired to remove chemically-combined water, Z-118C is free of organics and will not outgas. Z-118C exhibits a tightly-bonded, medium-density, fine texture making it ideal for precision machining into shapes requiring tight dimensional controls, such as castertips and baffles for continuous aluminum sheet casting.
