Founded in 1980, Equipe Jean PAIN is a family-run business with a strong commitment to sustainability. Our robust and durable chippers are designed and built in France, and we prioritize local subcontractors whenever possible, completing the construction in our own workshop. This workshop reflects our eco-responsible commitments: 100% wood construction, wood fiber insulation, and rooftop photovoltaic panels ensure energy neutrality – we produce as much energy as our operations consume!

Here is our history :

1980 - Creation of Equipe Jean PAIN by Etienne BONVALLET, technical collaborator and nephew of Jean PAIN.

1981 - Development of the SUPER-PAIN 900, the first chipper in the range.

1981 to 1991 - Expansion of the range with the SUPER-PAIN 280, 450, and 600 chippers, smaller than the 900, and the high-capacity SUPER-PAIN 1300 and 1700 chippers.

1991 - Equipe Jean PAIN becomes involved in the wood-energy sector.

2019 - Etienne BONVALLET retires, and his daughter, Laura BONVALLET, takes over the family business. EQUIPE JEAN PAIN becomes EQUIPE JEAN PAIN SARL, and sets up in a new workshop reflecting the company's ecological commitments: wood frame, wood cladding and wood insulation, 100% renewable electricity supply by Enercoop, energy neutrality thanks to self-consumption solar panels with reinjection of surplus.

The need to create a range of wood chippers arose from a simple observation: no existing equipment was capable of producing consistent wood chips on large branches or brush. This was a crucial factor for optimal fermentation, essential in the Jean Pain Methods.

This criterion has proven decisive in other areas such as wood energy, animal bedding, and insulation.

To date, EQUIPE JEAN PAIN is the only company capable of producing a wood chipper that, regardless of its size, produces homogeneous woodchips from branches of any diameter and even from related products from primary processing sawmills.
