Tough, digital, flush mounted sensor for measurement of moisture in wet and dry materials during the mixing cycle, in chutes and mixers.
The Hydro-Mix VI is a rugged, flush mounted microwave moisture measurement sensor for mixers and other process control environments. Designed by Hydronix to be installed in the turbulent environment of a mixer, the Hydro-Mix features integral signal processing and is easily connected to any control system. The sensor reads at 25 times per second which enables rapid detection in moisture content in the process, including the determination of homogeneity.
Typically used to measure moisture in concrete mixing, the Hydro-Mix VI is also used successfully in other industries where it can be installed in a mixer, for example, grain processing and animal feed. The Hydro-Mix is fitted into the floor of a mixer or screw conveyor and takes measurements as the material flows over the ceramic head during processing.
Remote configuration, calibration, diagnostics and software upgrades can easily be undertaken using Hydronix Hydro-Com software. This allows direct integration with any control system without the requirement of any other interface unit. Combined with on-board functionality such as signal processing, smoothing and averaging the Hydro-Mix VI is simple to integrate.

The tailor made solution for measuring bore hole humidity in
hardened concrete.
The James Instruments Humitest System allows the concrete practitioner to monitor and ensure that a new structure is dry enough to proceed with the next phase of construction. This is especially critical for concrete structures requiring a coating, carpeting or similar floor or covering treatment. Installing such treatments before the concrete is sufficiently dry will typically cause expensive failures in the covering treatment. The only accurate way to ensure that the concrete is sufficiently dry enough to safely avoid expensive re-work is via a bore hole humidity test system, such as the Humitest System™.
The system works by first boring a hole into the concrete and inserting a plastic tube in the hole. The plastic tube is then plugged and the system is set to stabilize and the humidity to reach equilibrium. The probe is then inserted into the plastic tube, left to stabilize for a short period of time, and then a reading is taken.
The sleeve is recommended to give readings at various depths in the concrete. As concrete moisture distribution is typically very uneven it is recommended to take readings at different depths depending on the structures exposure.

The new 851 Titrando and 852 Titrando coulometers make Metrohm’s Titrando family complete. Both instruments can determine the water content coulometrically; with the 852 Titrando it can also be determined volumetrically. As a new feature, both instruments can also determine the bromine index. Another new feature exclusively offered in the new Titrando coulometers is the auto-start function.
New: determination of the bromine index
Coulometric titrations can be carried out fast and easily with the 851 Titrando. The 852 can also carry out volumetric Karl Fischer titrations. A new feature in both instruments is the determination of the bromine index according to ASTM D 1159, which does not require any additional equipment.
Both instruments can be controlled either by the Touch Control operation unit as stand-alone systems or connected to a PC and controlled by Metrohm’s PC Control software. The new Titrando coulometers come with four MSB connections for connecting intelligent dosing units. Sample, standards or auxiliary solutions as well as solubility promoters can be added with maximum precision and convenience for perfect liquid handling.
Foolproof operation
Both the 851 and 852 Titrandos come with a new autostart function. Up to now, if the sample was injected into the titration cell without the titration having been started beforehand, the sample’s water content was removed by conditioning and the measurement had to be repeated. This potential risk of failure has been eliminated in the 851 and 852 Titrando. As soon as the sample is added the titration starts automatically, which makes operating the new Titrandos virtually foolproof.

The Honeywell 4112 dew point transmitter represents a technological breakthrough in moisture measurement. Absolute moisture in processes at high pressure and temperatures up to 185 degrees Celsius (365 degrees Fahrenheit) higher than existing equipment is now a reality, opening the door to better product quality, improved thermal efficiency and longer process equipment life. The probe will also stand short temperature excursions to 204 degrees Celsius.
The H4112 dew point transmitter is a direct intrusion, FM approved dew point and dry bulb temperature transmitter for industrial environments. The transmitter measures dew point and dry bulb (process temperature) simultaneously with local indication and retransmitted 4-20 mA outputs. The transmitter is designed to meet the moisture measuring requirements of a wide variety of industrial processes. End-users can now measure moisture where they had previously been unable to do so because of temperature limits, contaminants and harsh environments.
Advanced probe/sensor design virtually eliminates temperature effects and parasitic capacitance interference. New advanced materials and sensor assembly techniques enhance performance in high process temperature conditions. H4112 also has superior tolerance to contaminants. Common solvents, dirt, oil and other pollutants do not affect the stability or accuracy of the sensor. Polymer coatings on the sensor have excellent environmental tolerance ensuring accurate and repeatable dew point measurements

A Hand Held Instrument for Fast Accurate Measurement of Moisture Content in Solid Materials.
The James Instruments Moisture Master utilizes the latest electronic technology to measure the quantity of water within its sensing field. The unit has two modes of operation the pin mode, and search mode. In the pin mode, two pins are pushed into the material and a high frequency field is created between these two pins. In the search mode the unit uses a high frequency capacitive sensor to sample a large volume of the material, instantaneously. Changes in this electromagnetic field are directly proportional to the dielectric constant of the material through which it passes. As the dielectric constant of water is almost two orders of magnitude greater than most non-metallic materials, variations in this parameter can be correlated to the moisture content. After extensive testing of various materials, relationships between the change in this field and moisture content have been determined. These relationships have been digitized and implemented using the latest in micro-computer technology, thereby allowing the user the direct readout of moisture content for concrete, masonry, hard wood, soft wood, gypsum, and brick. The pin method has been found to be most effective in low density materials such as fir wood or pine wood. The search mode has been found to be most effective for higher density materials such as brick, masonry, gypsum and concrete.

860 KF Thermoprep
Simple, safe, precise
Thermal sample preparation in Karl Fischer titration.
The Karl Fischer oven method
For various reasons many substances are not suitable for a direct Karl Fischer titration:
– They release their water only slowly
– The water is released at high temperatures only
– The substances are poorly soluble in alcohols
– They undergo side reactions with KF reagents
– They contaminate the titration cell or the electrodes
By using the KF oven method the above-mentioned problems can be avoided. The substance under investigation is heated in a hermetically sealed vial in the oven. The water vapor released is transferred to the titration cell by a carrier gas. This means that no noxious solubilizers have to be used, side reactions as well as matrix effects are absent and the contamination of the titration cell is avoided.
Depending on the sample’s water content, the determination can be carried out either by coulometric or volumetric Karl Fischer titration.
Precise results
Identical analysis conditions for all samples guarantee results of the highest precision. Thanks to the heated outlet tubing the released moisture is transferred quantitatively to the titration cell.
Sample vessels of different sizes
As an option, there is the possibility to modify the oven of the 860 KF Thermoprep in such a way that you can use not only the Metrohm standard sample vials but also those used in your production plant.

Hydro-View
Monitor that displays moisture content readings from sensors
Located normally in a control panel, the Hydro-View unit is a simple to use moisture monitor that displays both the instantaneous and batch average moisture contents from a Hydronix sensor.
The unit which is available in both panel and wall mounting configurations may be used as a stand alone system for display purposes or with a batch controller to provide dynamic batch weight correction. A simple keypad arrangement on the front panel enables all operations to be easily configured and results viewed on the LCD display. Hydro-View is a multi-language system.
Trend Display
A unique facility of the Hydro-View monitor is the 'Trend Display' which will graphically chart the following four functions:
Raw sensor input voltage (V)
Sensor voltage after conditioning (Vc)
Instantaneous Moisture % (M)
Average Moisture % (A)
Although only one trace can be displayed at any one time, all four values are recorded simultaneously and any of the four traces may be selected. It is therefore possible to compare for example the raw sensor input voltage trace to the conditioned signal to assess the effectiveness of the signal conditioning parameters selected.

The MS-70, MX-50, MF-50 and the ML-50 are moisture analyzers that utilize the heating and drying method, which compares the weight of a sample before and after heating and drying. Compared with Karl Fischer analyzers, the MS/MX/MF/ML analyzers are much easier to operate and require a shorter time for measurements. At the same time, they maintain very high repeatability thanks to the incorporation of A&D¡'s Super Hybrid Sensor (SHS) as the weighing sensor.
The Windows Communication Tools, WinCT-Moisture, is provided as standard for the MS and MX (optional for MF and ML). With the RsFig, the MS/MX/MF/ML can display a graph on a PC showing changes in the moisture rate while performing measurements. Moreover, with RsTemp, it is possible to determine the most suitable heating conditions for a given sample in a very short time. Specifically, RsTemp automatically changes the heat applied based on set increments and interval times within a range of 30°C-200°C. Given changes in the moisture rate over time, it can determine the most suitable heating temperature.
Another unique feature is that the MS/MX/MF/ML come standard with Sodium Tartrate Dihydrate. Sodium Tartrate Dihydrate is a chemical material that has a stable moisture content of approx. 15.66%, and is therefore ideal to check for accuracy in order to maintain the reference value of the analyzer.
The moisture content resolution of the MS, MX, MF and the ML is 0.001%, 0.01%, 0.05% and 0.1% respectively. The MS-70 is the leading model and is capable of measurements as precise as those done by a Karl Fischer moisture analyzer.
Please see the Users Handbook for the MS/MX/MF/ML for further details.
