Belts can be used for all grinding and sanding processes, e.g. with a contact shoe, on the unsupported belt or with a contact wheel, and are distinguished by their high tearing resistance and optimum tensile strength. Heavy, robust, X or Y cloth backings are used for flat surfaces. The machining of flexible parts needs lighter, more flexible backings of J, F or E grade cloth which adapt to the curvature of the workpiece. Belts are used in a multitude of lengths and widths on a whole series of machines. VSM offers belts in numerous sizes for the machining of surfaces.

Abrasive Wool
sia abrasive wool offers terrific advantages over traditional alternatives for anyone involved in hand finishing. Highly conformable, it can be used in the smallest swab and shaped for difficult-to-reach holes and corners, or in handfuls to achieve excellent hand finished surfaces.
Its blend of abrasive grits, bonded to strong, soft fibres is easy on your hands, long lasting in use and will not rust in storage. It is safer than steel wool, especially where sparks or any heat source may be present*, light to handle and can be used dry or in solvent and finishing fluids. Above all, three simple grades give a great finish quickly and effectively.
|
|
VSM series made of aluminium oxide are tough and very hard. Aluminium oxide is a universal grain for the machining of metal and wood surfaces.
VSM High Quality-products stand for high stock removal, long service life and hence for economical grinding. At the same time they achieve an improved surface quality.
For applications involving the dry machining of stainless and high-temperature steels we recommend using TOP SIZE products. Their additional lubricating layer provides increased stock removal rates and significantly reduced temperature in the grinding zone, which prevents workpiece structural changes.

Diamond and CBN Plated Microsize® bore finishing tools from Bates help you get the job done right the first time. The tools go through the bore only once, removing the prescribed amount of stock to yield a perfectly sized bore in one pass. An expandable Superabrasive sleeve mounted on a tapered arbor, Bates Microsize® bore finishing tools overcome even the most difficult bore-sizing and finishing challenges.
The tools excel on tandem bores and parts with keyways. The tools also yield extremely close tolerances and easily handle interrupted cuts. Bates' Microsize® tools are created for operation in typical bore finishing machines, such as Engis, Accu-Cut and Sunnen machines, as well as CNC machining centers. The super-abrasive tools have been successful in bringing new efficiency to fine boring and grinding operations. They may also be used on their own to obtain fast stock removal, or as part of a finishing process following traditional honing.
