The special Hero-rail elements enable variable arrangement of the line, to turn the conveying direction in horizontal and also in vertical way, up to running straight vertical. The vehicles generally carry a special designed hanger matching the load requirements. The track segments are usually supported by special designed steel structure hanging at roof construction or standing on floor.
We basically divert into Power Rail that is to take up the chain trolleys and the Free Rail that is to take up the load trolley. Both, the Power and the Free-rail, is connected via special sheets.
The Power-chain is attached with chain dogs (in pitch). These chain dogs catch the trolley dogs of the free-trolleys and so the free trolley will start to move. In Stop stations the free-trolley dogs can be pushed down so unlink the free trolley from the chain-dog. In this way the free-trolley can be stopped while the chain is still moving. The same method is also used to queue trolleys behind each other along a - generally - straight track segment.

The carriers are in accumulation on two parallel and motorised tracks, through the same driving chain.
Spreader accumulations in inventory areas are managed by stop stations connected to the conveyor robot.

This type of conveyor separates the function support from the load of the function drive. A load can thus be uncoupled from the chain, deviated in a switch, then taken again by a secondary chain; in the same way, it's possible to accumulate loads without pressure by disconnecting them (a thrust disconnects the first carriage which itself by its presence disconnects the second). The Power+Free systems make it possible to solve complex problems of handling.

The Overhead monorail chain conveyor forms a closed loop, and the speed of the chain can be adjusted, using a speed transmission.
The suspended tray conveyors, spreaders or carried parts are directly hooked to the conveyor chain.

The single chain overhead conveyor is a quasi universal means of handling which is integrated in all types of industries and transports the most various loads. The chain with Cardan joint , guided by a tubular profile, authorizes greatest freedom in the geometrical design of the circuit (curves in the two plans, …)

There is a wide variety of suspended chain conveyors, but they can be easily divided into "closed" and "open" rail types. Both these chain conveyor types are included in the Railtechniek range.
General Concept: A suspended chain conveyor always forms a closed loop. This loop consists of a chain which is driven over or through a rail profile by a caterpillar track or chainwheel drive set. Horizontal bends, as well as vertical drops and rises, can be built into a chain conveyor circuit. The weight of the loads to be carried by the chain and the circuit length are the critical points in determining the choice of chain.
In a number of cases, the operating conditions determine whether an open or closed chain conveyor is used. Usually, a closed-rail type with a short-link universal joint chain is selected, this can hinge in three dimensions. Such a system is flexible and the chain is safely enclosed in a rail tube. Beside the lack of this safety aspect, an open-rail type also has the disadvantage that each bend has to be fitted with a wheel guide. The rise and fall angle is limited and requires a long approach length for a limited difference in level. However, the breaking strength and load capacity is considerably higher than for closed conveyors. An open-rail type with trolleys connected by drop-forged links can be found in foundries, rolling mills, steel sandblasting and enamelling workplaces and in car and farm machinery assembly lines. They are internationally indicated as 3.4.8, 4.5.8 and 6.7.8-inch systems. The numbering gives the strength and dimensions of the chain.

With a monorail system, the hoist and trolley run on a single stationary beam. Because of their inherent speed and efficiency, monorail systems are an effective method of moving and positioning loads to specific locations. They are available in capacities up to 150 tons.
Our engineering staff can design complex monorail systems including curved tracks, multiple switches and interlocks which permit monorails to interface with other material handling systems. Highly automated monorail systems, controlled by computers or programmable logic controllers, are also available.
We design and build supporting structures, too-both ceiling-suspended and floor-mounted self-supporting. This allows us to provide you with the most cost-competitive monorail system for your facility.
Common Applications:
Monorails are often used for repetitive production jobs, such as paint booths and water treatment plants. Monorails are best used in applications where materials are to be transported from one fixed point to another fixed location, or through a process; e.g., painting, blasting, delivering hot metal from the furnace to a fixed pouring location. The monorail allows two axes of hook movement: up/down and forward/back along the monorail beam. There is no lateral motion under the monorail beam.

Manual Monorail Systems are the most versatile and widely used technology in the “Overhead” conveyor systems.
Installations are many and varied ranging trough painting, wood treatment, greenhouses, exhibitions and theaters to name a few.
If properly constructed and manufactured, it is a user-friendly tool for goods, equipment or walls by hand floor Friday to move and edit. Rail Engineering has a market-oriented series profiles for different uses and taxes in brick elements. Each profile measure from the series is supplemented with bends, liaison and attachments, bills, turntables and rail lifts in standard components that easily connect to each other and ensure a smooth course.
There is a large choice of trolley cars piece by piece by a high degree of tolerance perfect, with a slight handshake by the tube-shaped profile to move. By connecting auxiliary machinery, physical acts, and it prevents fatigue and back complaints.
A Rail Engineering monorail system is very suitable for self-assembly and is also available in individual parts.

SSI's overhead trolleys are simple, yet offer a comprehensive capability that can profitably be applied to precisely and accurately moving a wide variety of materials. 3", 4", or 6" trolley systems are available with a wide selection of versatile components and accessories. Installations that follow almost any required horizontal or vertical direction or turn are possible because of the conveyor's exceptional flexibility.
The SSI Overhead reduces the manual handling of materials, while simultaneously increasing speed and accuracy. Costly losses due to damage and negligence are considerably decreased. The conveyor can also furnish the convenient storage of parts until needed for processing by elevating them to the ceiling or between roof trusses. SSI's overhead conveyors maximize square footage by utilizing a plant's overhead space to free up floor space for other operations.
With its chain and trolleys properly shielded, the SSI Overhead Conveyor can participate in and be used for transporting materials through operations such as metal cleaning, painting, dipping, chemical processing, sand blasting, oven drying, etc. Many operations of this kind can not be done manually without hazard to the operator.
The SSI Overhead can be combined with other types of conveyors to provide maximum efficiencies in automatic conveying and assembly systems. It can maintain a constant supply of parts to processing or assembly points, reduce stock room requirements, help keep inventories to a minimum, and remove accident hazards by keeping work areas clear.

Customized solutions for a quick and trouble-free transfer of empty PET containers of any shape and size from the blow molder to the filler.
Modular and ergonomic design
SMI air conveyors feature a modular design and a great operational flexibility, also thanks to the use of frequency converters (inverters) which optimize the conveyors speed. Furthermore, the stainless steel AISI 304 frame (1) makes the maintenance and cleaning operations easier. It is also possible to adjust the air distribution system according to the type of bottle, by means of manual valves or through the electronic control of the motors speed.
Low maintenance and operating costs
The product guides (2) are made of stainless steel and plastic UHMW antifriction material, whereas the guides controlling the bottles trajectory (3) consist of non-abrasive, plastic brushes (4), with the following advantages:
- they preserve the container quality
- they grant the correct side position of every kind of bottle
- they reduce the changeover times
- they reduce the wear levels and the maintenance operations
- they offer great advantages from the economical point of view (minimized operational costs)
