The Eastman MPC-5000™ Multi-Ply Cutting System is an automated reciprocating straight knife cutter, with conveyor, capable of cutting up to 2 in. (5 cm) of compressed material. Die cutter is designated for cutting out different patterns from hard foils, cardboard and paper. It can also be used for cutting out die stampings, from foils obtained in the vacuum forming process, by means of band punching dies placed on the plywood. It enables the so-called cardboard bending (making incisions) and perforation used in the production of foil and cardboard packing.
Two types of die cutter shafts are used: either two steel shafts or an upper shaft covered with a special material.
Using the first type of shafts, the material that is to be cut out and a separator made of a special plastic is placed on the punching die, which is a very impractical solution for large sizes of cut-out elements.
Using the second type of shafts punching die with a cut-out material is placed directly between die cutter shafts. This method increases the output of the machine. Die cutter shafts are driven by transmission belt, which enables noiseless and steady work.

By combining stamping and laser cutting technologies, the machine effectively and productively handles the increasingly complex processing jobs seen today. The solution GraphCut® Mono Conveyer is a very robust machine adapted to a need for high productivity for the flexible material cutting mono-fold. Its structure extrêment rigid was conceived for an intensive use 24:00 /24 and 7 days a week while preserving a speed of cutting optimum and a high degree of accuracy. The matter to be cut out is automatically fed by the conveyer and the unloading of the cut out parts is done in end of table on a zone of unloading defined by the operator according to the type of cutting carried out. The beam and the head of cutting move on the axes using a system of pinion toothed rack offering an unequalled speed and a precision. This machine is able to cut out, mark and punch at speeds going up to 1.5 m/sec with a precision about + 0.25 Misters.
A system of turbine, making it possible to create a depression on the table, ensures the immobilization of material during the cut to obtain the quality of necessary cut.
The range of tools proposed on this machine includes a tangential blade not motorized, a motorized rotary blade, an oscillating tangential blade, a system of marking pen and a system of marking jet of ink. This wide range makes it possible to cut out materials until thicknesses of 15 Misters.

Stealth Dicing Technology
In Stealth Dicing, a laser beam at a wavelength capable of transmitting through the material is condensed on an internal point in that material. This selectively forms a mechanical damage layer (stress layer) in a localized point near the light focus area so that the material is cut from the "inside". The operating principle of stealth dicing is fundamentally different from conventional blade dicing technology that cuts the material from the "outside".
