LIGHT WEIGHT
Nature provides the geometry, we provide the honeycomb composite material. Nida-Core is extruded from tough, versatile polypropylene plastic. (Other materials are available). Thermo fused to the honeycomb cells are non-woven polyester bonding scrims with a polypropylene barrier film to limit resin consumption. When encapsulated in a laminate it is recognized by the US Coast Guard as a primary flotation material in small boats.
ROT PROOF
PVC and SAN Foams are attacked by styrene and absorb water when exposed, plywood and balsa rot or lose strength when wet. Nida-Core does NOT rot and is unaffected by most solvents and chemical agents. Additionally, when encapsulated in a laminate using a non-aqueous resin the scrim forms a seal limiting water migration through the structure, even if skin is punctured.
EXCELLENT BOND
The cell walls are fused into the non-woven polyester scrim. That coupled with the scrim's affinity for virtually any resin or adhesive system provides exceptional bond and peel strength.
IMPACT RESISTANCE
There are many cores that can make a light, stiff structure. Nida-Core, however, combines the light weight and stiffness of honeycomb with tough polypropylene plus superior bonding properties due to the thermo fused scrim. The combination allows Nida-Core to absorb and dissipate impacts and shocks repeatedly that would cause ultimate catastrophic failure in other core materials.

Description:
The CN-resin system basing on cyanatester was especially developed for high temperature applications up to 400°C. ISOPREG CN-prepregs find many other applications due to their low water uptake and the outstanding flame resisting properties. ISOPREG CN prepregs are available from dry to tacky and suitable for pressing and vacuum applications.

HexTOOL® Tooling Compound is randomly layered strips of uni-directional prepreg consolidated into continuous rolled goods. It can be utilized as multi-ply quasi-isotropic hand lay-up and subsequently CNC milled to close tolerance. HexTOOL® has proved to be dimensionally stable with the ability to hold vacuum integrity before and after machining, and after more than 100 part cure cycles. Fabricated from Hexcel’s toughened BMI resin HexPly® M61, HexTOOL® tools are ideally suited for 350°F/180°C cure carbon fiber tools. This makes them lighter weight, more energy efficient than tools made of steel or INVAR, and more cost effective with tighter mold tolerance than standard composites

Corecell M-Foam – The Marine Foam
• Replacement for PVC cores
• High shear strength combined with low density
• High temperature processing (prepreg compatible)
• High elongation for toughness
• Suitable for all composite processes including prepreg
Corecell M-Foam is the newest addition to the Corecell range and shares the benefits of SAN chemistry common to all Corecell products.
Corecell M-Foam has been developed to deliver one product for all Marine applications. It provides a unique combination of high shear strength with low density, high elongation, high temperature resistance and low resin uptake. M-Foam is the performance leader whether your application is slamming area or superstructure, hull or deck, using hand lamination, infusion or prepreg.
Corecell M-Foam delivers reliable processing through the benefits recognized in all Corecell products of fine cell size and unique knife-cuts giving low resin uptake in infusion processes. For prepreg, M-Foam offers high temperature resistance to allow shorter cure cycles and the confidence to process without fear of inhibition of prepreg catalysis. Where static properties are important, M-Foam delivers market-leading shear strength at a lower density. Where dynamic performance is crucial, the high elongation delivers higher useful properties and the toughness to give impact resistance and superior fatigue performance,
Corecell M-Foam is available in resin infusion format and is compatible with polyester, vinylester and epoxy resin systems.

The TEXIPLAST® range of thermoplastic reinforcements is based on thermoplastic coated yarn. This new system is based on a wide range of carbon, aramid and glass yarn already impregnated with thermoplastic -PP, PA, PE, PET and others - matrix. Therefore, part producers can quickly process it to manufacture parts having high shock resistance, smooth surface and good reversibility. The latter property represents a substantial improvement in the environmental and recycling issues.
