Belts can be used for all grinding and sanding processes, e.g. with a contact shoe, on the unsupported belt or with a contact wheel, and are distinguished by their high tearing resistance and optimum tensile strength. Heavy, robust, X or Y cloth backings are used for flat surfaces. The machining of flexible parts needs lighter, more flexible backings of J, F or E grade cloth which adapt to the curvature of the workpiece. Belts are used in a multitude of lengths and widths on a whole series of machines. VSM offers belts in numerous sizes for the machining of surfaces.

Their additional lubricating layer provides increased stock removal rates and significantly reduced temperature in the grinding zone, which prevents workpiece structural changes.
