The digital stroboscope emits an intermittent flash of light at a set frequency. This creates an optical illusion of slowing or stopping repetitive phenomena too rapid to be observed by the unaided human eye.
Digital stroboscopes are used to observe rapid, periodic phenomena, especially of a rotational nature. They are used to determine the proper functioning of motors and other rotating machines.
The digital stroboscope uses a digital readout and controls for precise control of its frequency. It comes in both bench-top and portable models, and can use either a xenon or LED light source.
Choice will depend on power, range of frequencies and portability needs.
