A fall arrest lanyard is a rope or strap attached to a leg strap, harness or safety belt. It has a carabiner at the other end.
Fall arrest harnesses are used primarily when working at height.
A fall arrest lanyard consists of two straps linked to a Y-shaped shock-absorbing cord attached to a harness. The carabiners at the end of each of the two straps are attached to a cable. The shock absorber reduces the impact felt by the wearer in case of a sudden fall.
Choice will depend on intended use. The fall arrest lanyard should comply with applicable standards.
