For precision metal cutting (steel, stainless steel, aluminium, brass, copper) Mach 2 brings reactivity and flexibility to the manufacture of single parts, prototypes, small and medium sized production runs.
It is an efficient and profitable tool for industries such as automobiles, aerospace, home appliances, connectors and sheet metal.
A fourth axis can be fitted on this machine through a programmable rotating unit. |

Enclosures are required for laser systems in a factory work environment. All Dukane enclosures are Class I laser tight and utilize laser-safe glass viewing windows where appropriate. Light-curtain-protected guillotine doors are utilized for access to the fixturing area for operation, setup, or automated parts handling. A common concept involves a two-position turntable with an integrated door.
Positioning systems run the full spectrum from simple servo stages or galvo heads to complex robotic installations. If you have a need, we will find a way to accommodate it.
Integration of the laser beam controls with the beam or part positioning system is simple with Dukane's laser welder software tools. Using sophisticated computer controls, we work with you to ensure that each weld program results in a robust process and maximized part quality.

The state-of-the-art welding process is based on the Contour Welding principle and generates the perfect appearance in terms of the welding quality. This launched process onto the welding technologies of plastics enables a welding method without any elaborate clamping device. Accordingly, the existing limitation on 2 dimensional welding process is eliminated. Consequently, the welding process can be extended to 3D-welding.
This latest LEISTER Welding Concept provides an alternative method of resolution, completely new aspects and more flexibility in design of the geometry as well while the conventional welding methods such as Ultrasonic Welding or Vibration Welding are limited to. In other words, the GLOBO - Welding opens new opportunities for high-quality and decorative automotive products such as headlights, taillights or even large parts for Textile and Packaging Industries. |
|
The concept of Macro Mask - Welding is based on the Laser Transmission Welding by analogy to other existing laser welding concepts. A curtain of laser light sweeps over a customer specific mask. The components are precisely joined where the laser is allowed to pass through the mask.
This concept enables the precise assembly of structured plastic parts without thermal stress in the covered area. Neither Adjustment System or Vision System are required compared to Micro Mask - Welding. The mechanic alignment of the components with the mask is sufficient to achieve the required results. |
|
A special mask welding system with supreme precision.
NOVOLAS TM MICRO welds fine structures as narrow as 100 µm. Any imaginable shape can be welded with a positioning accuracy down to 2 µm. Masks can be exchanged with ease, allowing for high flexibility. NOVOLAS TM MICRO can be operated as a manual workstation or integrated for mass production.
• An intelligent adjustment system guarantees high
welding precision
• Simple parameterization and visualization with the graphical
user interface
• Seated operation and easy handling
• Novolas TM Micro is configured for clean room applications
• Masks are produced via photo lithography according to
customer specifications |
|
The new class NOVOLAS Basic AT is optimised for the
integration into production lines. lt can be easily configured
for various requirements, due to its consequent modular
design. Almost any welding concept can be realised with
the different diode laser and optic modules. Besides the
established concepts like contour welding mainly mask
welding and GLOBO-welding has to be emphasised. The
mutually matched components provide high process stability
as well as cost-saving production. The use of multiple laser
and optic modules in one single system enables an efficient
way to increase throughput which also helps reducing costs. |

The BW or Big Workstation offers a large working envelope, with horizontal manually operated double doors, for multi-axis options or multiple focus head configuration, as well as any tooling or other peripheral equipment that is required for the application.
The SW or Small Workstation offers a compact footprint when space is a premium, with space-saving pneumatic vertical door, while still providing sufficient internal volume for most application requirements. |

StarDisc
The q-switched StarDisc offers not merely high power in the fundamental mode TEM00 but also an ideal range of pulse widths. The combination of high pulse peak power and material-adjusted pulse duration provides for outstandingly short process times for various applications.
Application Example Rear Contact Solar Cells
For plating through front sides of solar cells, several 10,000 holes with a diameter of approx. 30 µm are drilled into a cell in a grid pattern and filled with conductive material. The StarDisc achieves extremely short processing times per one solar cell of 5-10 seconds . Ideal precondition for an inline integration of plating through procedures into the production process.
Like all lasers made by ROFIN, the StarDisc is based on a platform technology and relies on a consequent modular concept. The user benefits substantially fromMaking use of industry-proven standard components brings substantial benefits to the customers like lower investment costs, less maintenance and higher reliability. |

The Excalibur Flexible Manufacturing Cell is a unique concept system from Laser Photonics, LLC. The Excalibur is the latest in lean manufacturing technology and offers a complete turnkey solution for manufacturers and production facilities. This new concept introduces the idea of using one Fiber Laser Module to control the tasks of up to four different machines with the use of one optical switch. The Excalibur is specifically designed for any manufacturer or production facility that performs applications which entail laser cutting, welding or remote welding and sheet cutting or marking. This concept is leading the way in helping manufacturers increase their production speed while lowering operating costs, floor space and initial capital spent on more expensive machines. The Excalibur is perfect in situations where robot training time is slowing down production and costing valuable time and money.
One of the main benefits of this flexible manufacturing cell is the many ways the system reduces operation costs. Since the system is operating off of one module the cost is instantly reduced by the amount of additional modules. In these cases the Excalibur can easily be upgradable when production needs to be increased. |
