GC4220
Sandvik Coromant’s new GC4220 grade promises 20-30% improvement in productivity against the current grade thanks to the latest developments in grade technology and an improved substrate and coating. Suitable for use in medium to rough milling at the elevated temperatures created by high speed milling or hard materials, grade GC4220 provides security and predictability to maximize productivity and optimize high metal removal rate. This GC4220 grade guarantees better security at higher speeds and higher feed rates than GC4020, good performance in unmanned production plus higher metal removal rate. The special strength of GC4220 lies in its resistance to crater wear and plastic deformation, common wear problems when running at high speeds and feeds. With its improved edge line strength and bulk toughness and its capacity to withstand increased cutting data, GC4220 is more predictable in dry milling, face and profile milling and ensures a good surface finish.
GC4230
New insert grade GC4230 from Sandvik Coromant is a highly versatile and all round performer, optimized for light to heavy milling of alloyed and unalloyed steels. Designed to meet the demands of modern machining, it is equally effective in both wet and dry conditions and at medium to high speeds. With improved properties providing maximum resistance to all wear types, GC4230 offers the confidence to increase cutting speed and metal removal rate, for a large boost to milling performance. Stressless coating technologies help to ensure this new grade brings improved edge line toughness far beyond standard CVD grades - for a trouble free machining experience in all applications.
Stellram's most versatile cutter. A strong multi-purpose cutter excellent in high temperature alloys and stainless steels using 4mm or 6mm octagonal professional inserts for up to a 0.445" depth-of-cut.
7745 VS Series
Excellent in tool steels and cast irons. Exceptionally thick square inserts professional handle tough conditions. Design allows for recessing operations.
TYROLIT has developed suppliers of grinding wheels for the economic production of high-quality cutting edges. These provide the required cutting edge quality with high stock removal rates, wheel life and are easy to dress.
Not only the choice of the specification also the trueing and dressing are important influential factors which are sometimes underrated.
Trueing, which is usually done with vitrified SiC wheels, produces the geometry and flatness of the grinding wheel faces.
Afterwards, dressing with a vitrified aluminum oxide dressing stick is necessary to expose the diamond grit.
