Pallet trucks are used to lift and transport pallets (charged or empty) from one area to another in industrial environments. The forks are raised hydraulically to lift the pallet from the surface while being supported by the two front wheels situated under the forks. The pallet truck with pallet, can then be moved using the rear wheels for directional purposes. Available as manual or electric pallet trucks.
The pallet trucks are used in environments where the transport of pallets is required. A relatively smooth flat surface is required for the truck to function and transport correctly.
The pallet trucks are available as manual hand trucks or as electric battery powered trucks.
The front wheels, located under the forks, are used as pivot points when the forks are being raised. The two rear wheels are used to direct the truck.
The trucks are available with forks varying in length and width.
The frequency of use, plus the distances which the pallets need to be transported are factors to be taken into consideration when choosing between the manual and electric pallet trucks.
