PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Libratherm offers four channel back to back connected SCR firing cards model SCRF-4 for electrical Heating control using resistive or inductive loads. Normally, the solid state relays are built around triacs and which are available up to the current carrying capacity of maximum 50 to 100Amp @ 230VAC, due to limitations of high PIV as compared to SCRs. Hence, for controlling the higher ratings of load, power contactors are used and solid state switching is not easily accomplished. The card SCRF-4, featured here can be used to fire up to 500Amps SCRs. Hence, it is possible to built solid state relay of as high as 500Ampere @ 230VAC or 415 VAC. The input control signal coming from the temperature controller in the range of 3 to 32VDC can be fed to this card to generate the ZERO cross over Gate Cathode pulses G1K1+G2K2 to turn ON the SCR, and the same can be turned off when the input signal is 0VDC. ZERO cross over circuit prevents generation of harmonics while turning the SCR OFF to ON or vice versa.
Using the single card, maximum 4 independent pairs of back to back connected SCRs can be fired in single phase, two phase or three phase in star or delta configuration of loads. User has a choice to select suitable ratings of back to back SCR as per the current demand (with suitably rated heat sinks). Making the solid state relays using this card is more advantageous, since, rapid on/off switching of the order of 1 second is possible, and hence can be operated in PID control mode, when compared to the power contactors. The card SCRF-4 is available in DIN mounting card holder.

To control the temperature of electrical heating system using contactors and solid state relays is a simplest method of controlling. However, for heater load requiring gradual and smooth power regulation or for control using the step up or step down transformers, the thyristor power packs featured here are widely used. Incorporating the thyristors for heater power control, ensures steady control and enhances the life of the heaters. Single phase and three phase models are available for single phase load and three phase load in star or delta configurations. Special features allows facility to limit the voltage, current to the desired level and soft rise / fall of the voltage across the load at the desired rate. To suit OEM requirement, only SCR / Triac triggering cards can also be offered along with the wiring details to enable them to make their own thyristor power pack.
APPLICATIONS
For power control of electrically heated furnace, oven, chamber etc...

JU Series Single-Phase Thyristor Regulators
The JU series small and lightweight thyristor regulators for single-phase loads are characterized with high panel installation density.
Two control systems, a phase-angle firing system and a zero-cross firing system, are built in and can be changed by remote contacts signal.

The MEW range of controllers are designed for regulating a three phase supply, using the phase-angle control principle. There are a number of versions available and choice depends upon the preferred method of control. The simplest units are used in conjunction with potentiometers or analog signals that provide the set point to give voltage, current or power regulation. Microprocessor control provides more functions for customising, through a digital front panel and also the ability to operate from standard field bus systems such as Interbus or Profibus.

These devices are designed to help protect sensitive telecommunication equipment from the hazards caused by overvoltage faults stemming from lightning, power contact, and power induction. They have a high electrical surge capability to help protect against transient faults and a high off-state impedance, rendering them virtually transparent during normal system operation.

To control the speed of the DC motor gradually, smooth DC voltage across the armature of the motor needs to be regulated along with the fixed DC voltage across the Field winding in the case of the 4 wire DC motors. The DC drive featured here, generates the variable DC voltage using phase angle control technique incorporating Diode / SCR rectifier. The DC voltage across the armature winding can be smoothly varied using the potentiometer or using the external control signal of 4-20mA or (0-5)VDC. Models are available for 1/8HP to 5HP DC motors operating on 100VDC to 400VDC.
APPLICATIONS
Suitable for small machines in Plastic, Packaging and Pharmaceutical industries where smooth and steady control over DC motor is required
