DC operated electromagnetic catching and holding device; due to the open magnetic field, this equipment is suitable to catch or hold ferromagnetic materials, as long as the coil is energized. GTo type holding magnets may be used, for instance, to catch, hold, lift or move mass produced parts, materials or tools. Due to the very small rate of power consumption, they are also suitable to be powered by battery voltage, independent of mains power.
