Inline mixer for dispersing easily dissolved powders into a liquid, a simple and effective solution typically used for products such as for recombined dairy products, sugar solutions and brine.
Powder Dispersion Mixer
Designed for dispersion of highly soluble powders at low total solids content. Powder is added to the mixer via a butterfly valve. The valve controls the flow of powder and prevents air entering the mixer.
Key Benefits of the Flex-Mix TPM+ Mixer
Cost effective - solution for dispersing easily dissolved powders
Simple to maintain - the shaft seals are changed easily, streamlining servicing
Reduced maintenance - costs when paired with SPX FLOW W+/Ws+ pumps due to compatible seals
Hygienic, CIP-friendly design - all parts in contact with product made from 316L
Robust construction - provides durability and operational reliability
How the Flex-Mix TPM+ Powder Mixer Works
The mixer is based on a centrifugal pump and operates on a Venturi method. An injector pipe is built coaxially into the pump inlet with a double pipe creating a Venturi. The liquid is added in the outer pipe section with the powder in the centre.
The powder hopper funnel is mounted above the mixer with a butterfly throttle valve regulating the powder quantity to the mixer. During operation the liquid is accelerated by means of the mixing head which creates a vacuum centrally in the injector pipe causing the powder to be sucked in and mixed with the liquid in the mixer housing.
In addition to the pump pressure the mixing head generates turbulence and shear forces in the mixture ensuring effective and homogeneous mixing.
