The DURA-BELT rough round urethane belts are made from 88A or 90A durometer urethane cord, and feature low friction coefficient of 0.4, offering belts the ability to slip in pulleys without the danger from overheating and abrasion. They are mainly used for situations where accumulation is common, in applications like paper moving, printing or various postal applications. The rough surface enables stability for paper sheets. Smooth belt surfaces offer more friction than rough surfaces, due to greater contact surfaces, and therefore higher friction coefficient. However, smooth belts are more susceptible to overheating, stretching or abrasion. These belts serve as quality replacement for Polycord® belts, and can be ordered with either rough or matte surface. They can be made out of 86A durometer, offering more grip. They are available with polyester cord reinforcement, and are water-resistant (washdown applications). They are not USDA/FDA approved.
