DE type modular overvoltage arresters protect electrical systems against overvoltage which may occur in the power supply circuit during a storm (lightning) or during coupling to the network (industrial interferences).

Protection is provided by high energy gas tube which is able to channel currents of up to 150 kA to earth without incurring damage. In association with DGV type arrester, it provides a very efficient common and differential surge protection for AC networks following the “CT2” configuration in IEC60364-5-534.
