In PAS4000, the tools for configuration, programming, commissioning and operation are closely compatible. The data interfaces are of standard design, making it easier to exchange information throughout all the phases of automation. Programmation on the basis of the IEC 61131-3 instruction set.

Configuration instead of programming

Component blocks are used to reproduce your application as building blocks within the software tool. The automation function is divided into independent elements. For each of these elements, component blocks provide a low-maintenance, independent view of the control, safety, diagnostic or visualisation function. You can create your own component blocks or use existing ones. These will build into a library of blocks, which you can just reuse again and again – saving costs and labour within the engineering process.

Flexibility when selecting hardware

With PSS4000, hardware can be selected much later on and is largely independent of the configuration stage. You can switch to a higher performance rating simply by swapping the head modules.
