This product is used in patch slice or in vivo experiments where microscope body cannot be moved to different fields of view. It is used in two-photon experiments where the excitation beam path enters a fixed microscope. In order to visit wide-spaced fields of view, and position pipettes, the preparation and associated manipulators move together on stage. The MP-78 was introduced in 2007 for Imaging Structure and Function in the nervous System. Its used with inverted microscopes for larger scopes in difficult translations. Its cast aluminum top plate has attractive shape with extensive 1/4-20 threaded hole pattern on 1-inch centers.
