Description

Food waste treatment is a very important task onboard of cruise vessels. A daily input of 0,8–2 kg per person and day have to be processed, but high food waste quantities affect the performance of the wastewater system. Our food waste systems are easy to use and require minimal maintenance. The systems consist of one or more feeding stations (food shredder and disposer) and a holding tank (capacity 3, 5, 10 or 15 m3). The food waste is macerated and transferred to the holding tank via vacuum or compressed air, requiring only small pipe diameter and less flushing water. Optional a skimmer for dewatering can be installed if sewage systems has sufficient capacity. The holding tank can also be used as an upstream stage for further bio waste processing.
