Overview The A1050 RANGER is a compact guided-wave ultrasonic inspection system for rapid detection of hidden corrosion in pipes and light poles, especially in hard-to-access areas such as beneath supports. Using Dry-Point-Contact (DPC) transducers, the system requires no couplant and supports efficient field deployment. The scanner performs a full 360° circumferential scan and produces high-resolution B-scan images that indicate corrosion location and severity. The portable electronic unit and tablet interface enable quick setup and on-site visualization.

Key features

• Scan using an adaptive manipulator or manually with two handles and a magnetic ruler for confined spaces.
• Acquires ultrasonic data at multiple equidistant positions around the pipe circumference (multi-channel DAQ).
• Real-time B-scan reconstruction using SAFT for localization and assessment of corrosion damage.

Applications Detection of hidden corrosion and wall-loss in metallic structures such as pipelines and light poles, particularly in areas difficult to access (for example under supports or clamps). The system inspects the full circumference (360°) with guided waves and DPC transducers, acquiring multi-channel data to generate B-scan images without dismantling the structure or interrupting operation.
