AKEMI® Plastic Adhesion Promoter Spray is a 1-component product which contains solvents and special adhesion promoting agents. The aerosol propellants are free of CFC. The product is characterized by the following properties: - - easy to apply - - fast drying - - highly effective AKEMI® Plastic Adhesion Promoter considerably improves the adhesion of spray paints to parts made of unplasticized (rigid) plastic, i.e. EPDM: - modified polypropylene rubber PP-EPDM: - modified polyproplylene rubber with specified degree of hardness ABS: - acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene plastic PC: - polycarbonate plastic GRP: - glass-fibre reinforced plastic This product, however, is not effective if applied to plastics such as polyurethane (plasticized and unplasticized) and plasticized PVC. It is mostly used in the car sector for plastic parts such as spoilers, bumpers, side aprons, side view mirrors etc. It is also used in the D.I.Y. and hobby sectors, e.g. for painting furniture made of rigid plastic. 1. - Plastic surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned to remove all traces of grease, silicone and dirt. 2. - Use wet sanding paper with a grain size of 600 to slightly abrade the surface. Afterwards clean the surface and let it dry. 3. - Shake the spray can vigorously. 4. - Spray on a very fine layer from a distance of approx. 25 cm. 5. - After a drying time of approx. 5 minutes the surface can be sprayed with a paint.
